How Two Homes—and One Vision—Are Transforming a Kenyan Community

More Than a House: How Two Homes-One Vision. Transforming a Kenyan Community

June 02, 20253 min read

At He Is the Remedy, we believe transformation doesn’t just happen—it’s built, one brick, one heart, and one story at a time.

Recently, that story took a beautiful turn, thanks to a visiting team whose hands and hearts helped bring tangible hope to our corner of Kenya.

A Sacred Visit, A Lasting Impact

We were honoured to welcome Dr. Dan Stewart and the amazing team from LPU for a week of service, connection, and transformation.

While they were here, they didn’t just show up—they built. With sweat, smiles, and compassion, the team constructed two stunning new homes for families in need. The beauty of these 2 new homes are that they are considered respectful, middle-class Kenyan homes—with spacious rooms, a concrete floor, glass windows, lockable wood doors, and a sturdy metal roof.

the homes being built

There's even a separate, private toilet and a washroom, offering comfort and dignity for the community members who now live there. One of the two houses was designed to be wheelchair accessible, which we are proud to say we accomplished.

It’s time to build something that can bless others for generations

But these weren’t just shelters. These were:

  • Respectful, middle-class Kenyan homes

  • Equipped with concrete floors, glass windows, and lockable wooden doors

  • Topped with sturdy metal roofs

  • Completed with private toilets and washrooms

  • One designed to be wheelchair accessible

In a place where many live in temporary or fragile housing, these homes represent more than safety—they represent dignity.

A Week of Healing and Hope

Beyond the construction, the LPU team rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the life of the community—offering medical support, joining church services, and being present for heartfelt moments of worship, laughter, and learning.

From healthcare to home visits, every act of service was a living echo of our mission: to bring the hands and feet of Christ to places where hope feels distant.

The Fund a Farm LAND CAMPAIGN

✨ Fund a Farm: A Vision Takes Root

As we celebrate what’s been built, we’re turning our gaze to the future—and it’s bold.

We’re launching the FUND A FARM: Land Campaign with a vision to raise $512,000 for 20 acres of land that will become the permanent home of our mission.

Here’s what we’re believing for:

  • 🌽 A working farm: maize, animals, and food security for outreach

  • 🏠 A community centre, church, Remedy House, and staff homes

  • 💧 A fresh-water well, fencing, and training space

  • 🛏️ A guesthouse to host mission teams, interns, and volunteers

For years, we’ve made the most of what we’ve been given—but now it’s time to build something that can bless others for generations

Will You Join the Journey?

Whether you want to sow into this campaign, bring a team, or simply learn more—we’d love to connect.

This isn’t just about land. It’s about legacy. It’s about creating a place where the Gospel is lived out daily—through farming, worship, discipleship, and love.

Thank You for Believing in This Mission
