Our year in review

A Year Overflowing With God’s Goodness

December 26, 20242 min read

As we reflected on this past year, our hearts overflowed with gratitude—gratitude for God’s steady hand, for the lives changed, and for your unwavering partnership in this mission. This Thanksgiving season reminded us that the story God is writing in Kenya is nowhere near finished.

Year-in-Review: What God Has Done So Far

Feeding the Hungry in Desperate Regions

We were able to carry out three major food outreaches in some of the most challenged areas of Kenya, including Turkana—where many hadn’t eaten for days. One young girl, with eyes full of longing, told Russ she wished she could go to America “because all we do is starve here.”
That moment reminded us exactly why we go.

A Farm That Fed Both Body and Spirit

Our maize harvest provided enough food to sustain our boys and bless surrounding families. The farm wasn’t just agriculture—it was discipleship on display, teaching responsibility, hard work, and generosity.

Mentorship That Changes Lives

Our young men continued to grow in spiritual maturity, choosing Jesus day by day. Serving together became a rhythm of transformation.

A Church Planted and Growing

This year, we planted a church—and it officially became a registered branch under a national church system. What began as small gatherings is now a spiritual home for many.

The World Came to Witness the Work

Teams from around the globe visited and experienced firsthand the incredible move of God. They returned home carrying that same fire to their own communities.

From Football Fields to Faithfulness

Even after we stepped away from football, half of our former players stayed. They chose ministry over recognition, service over spotlight. Today, they serve faithfully in youth ministry and community projects.

We are raising a generation of Godly men and women—the change-makers Kenya desperately needs.

A Major Praise + A Major Prayer Request

A Visa Renewal—A Divine Confirmation

We received a three-year visa renewal—a powerful assurance that God isn’t finished with our family or this ministry in Kenya.

The Next Step: Securing a Permanent Home

To step fully into what God is calling us toward, we need a place to plant roots—a permanent base for:

  • Sunday services

  • Youth sports and discipleship

  • Biblical training and spiritual development

  • Mentorship and outreach

  • Hosting mission teams and volunteers

  • Creating a beacon of hope in the community

This vision requires land—stable ground for long-term impact.

We launched a Land Fundraiser to purchase a permanent ministry base. It’s a bold faith step, and we’re asking for your partnership as we pursue what God has placed before us
