Two Lives, One Mission: A Fresh Start for Nyoka and Renson

June 20, 20253 min read

Over the past year, our 11 Homes in 11 Months project became more than a campaign—it became a movement of mercy. These homes didn’t just offer shelter; they restored dignity, created safety, and symbolised the deep, faithful love of Jesus in action.

And we’re not done yet.

As needs arise in the community, we remain committed to building hope—brick by brick, story by story. Right now, two of our brothers, Nyoka and Renson, are in need of homes. Their stories speak volumes about God’s redemption and the power of practical compassion.

A Fresh Start for Nyoka & Renson

🔹 Nyoka: From Addiction to Evangelism

fresh start for Nyoka

Not long ago, Nyoka was lost—deep in addiction and unwilling even to pray with our team. But God was not done with him.

Through years of discipleship, community, and love, Nyoka’s life has been transformed. Today, he is:

  • A counselor on our addiction recovery team

  • The groundskeeper for our ministry

  • A trusted leader in his community

He’s gone from refusing prayer to leading others into salvation. But right now, Nyoka lives in a borrowed space—a small room on his brother’s property. We want to change that by building him a simple, secure two-room home, complete with a toilet and a small plot of land to grow on—spiritually and practically.

🔹 Renson: A Home for Independence

Renson

In 2020, Renson sustained a spinal injury that left him unable to walk or work. Without family support, he spent a year in a care facility before moving into a rental that is entirely unsuitable for someone in a wheelchair.

Yet Renson has not let his limitations define him. He’s started a small chicken business to support himself, showing resilience and creativity. But his current home has:

  • No proper toilet

  • No accessibility features

  • Narrow, unsafe paths that threaten his health and dignity

We want to build Renson a fully wheelchair-accessible home, including a specialised toilet—on a piece of land generously provided by Bwana Ndege Organization.

Two Lives. Two Homes. One Goal: $6,000

With $6,000, we can:
✔ Build a two-room home for Nyoka
✔ Construct an accessible home for Renson
✔ Cover the costs of labor, land, and essential materials

Would you help us make these homes a reality?

Every gift—large or small—moves us closer to giving Nyoka and Renson the gift of home.

Special Visitors: A Time of Refreshing

Chris and Deryl Rothman

This month, we were honored to host Chris and Deryl Rothman, longtime mentors and dear friends of our ministry. Before we ever stepped foot in Kenya, they walked with us through prayer, preparation, and encouragement.

Their three-week visit was a breath of fresh air. Highlights included:
✔ Helping to mud a home for one of our guys
✔ Tasting mursik (fermented milk) for the first time—let’s just say, it’s... memorable 😉
✔ Loving, encouraging, and strengthening our team
